Original Item: Only One Available. This wonderful Fallschirmjäger helmet retains 99% of its originally applied, dark green/blue, rough texture combat finish. It is in near excellent condition with no damage or dents. It has not been touched since WW2 and has totally original wartime parts. This example has a crisp vibrant decal that is excellent, remaining 95% intact.
The interior features a soft, brown leather liner is size 55 (6 7/8 US). It is well marked and produced by Heisler. It is nicely ink stamped with maker and size markings of the liner (58) and the shell (71) as follows:
Kopfweite: Gr. 56
Stahlhelm: Gr. 68
Baumuster: Heisler, Berlin C2
Hersteller: F.W. Müller Jr.
The side of the liner also bears a hand written name in red ink that appears to read Doug Delack, we can only assume that this was the name of the USGI who captured this helmet as a trophy of war.
Seen between the liner band the liner itself are the complete seven charcoal foam pads; the entire assembly is attached to the shell via four correct wartime original bolts. The harness and buckle are in excellent fully functional condition.
The side of the interior shell is stamped ET66 and the rear of the skirt is stamped with the steel lot number 5069. All paratrooper helmets were produced by Eisenhuttenwerke AG of Thale. This example is a shell size 66 and was produced some time in 1940 – 1942.
A fantastic example, with all the correct features and in prime condition, that has not been touched since WW2 and has totally original wartime parts. A top shelf helmet for the serious collector!
