Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice WWII German Luftwaffe Officer’s Bullion Dress Brocade Belt, with attached aluminum buckle. These belts were worn with the dress uniform for ceremonial occasions, and were standard issue to all officers with their dress uniform.
The belt is a die struck/stamped, nickel-silver based construction that has been silver washed and gold gilded. It depicts an early droop trail pinned eagle on a pebbled background that is surrounded by an oak leaf wreath that is tied together at the bottom. The buckle is attached by two square rings to a long quality woven bright silver/aluminum construction brocade belt. The belt pattern has two vertical grey lines with a central small red line. The belt has two sliding vertical loops, which have the same pattern.
The reverse is lined in a grey/blue fabric, and a small hook on the end of the belt by the buckle fits into grommets on the reverse for size adjustment. The belt measures about 35 inches long in the current configuration, and looks like it could probably be extended to 38 inches. One of the grommets in the reverse is missing. These usually would have had an RZM label or other type of paper label on the back, which were removed when put into service.
The buckle is in fantastic shape, with minimal wear, and clear frosting, as is the clasp on the other side. The bullion threading on the belt is nice, with almost no wear. Both sliders are present, and look great.
Overall a great example of a hard to find WWII German Dress Belt, ready to display!
