Original Item: Only One Available. This an incredible excellent condition example of a WW2 German Luftwaffe Flag Car / Automobile / Vehicle Rigid Fender Wimpel (Pennant) used for the vehicles of high ranking officers and their staff.
This Fender Pennant is still enclosed in the original celluloid covering. The celluloid is completely intact, and just has one tiny crack near the rear edge. There are no dents in the plastic, though it has yellowed slightly, and shrunk inward, which has actually bent the back edge of the pennant frame. This covering is edged with sewn blue faux leather that runs all the way around each side encompassing a wire frame. The frame is still present and connects at each corner to a mounting cuff, which attaches to a post on the fender.
The pennant in frame measures 14 1/2 inches by 9 inches and is double sided. It is blue in color, with a heavy intricately embroidered Luftwaffe eagle. The celluloid has yellowed slightly, and the color on the pennant is slightly faded, but this is entirely typical given the age.
These wire framed fender pennants encased in celluloid with a faux leather trim are exceptionally rare and were used for high ranking officer vehicles. You won’t find one this nice anytime soon!
