Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice WWII German Wehrmacht Luftwaffe EM/NCO’s Belt Buckle (Koppelschloß) with correct leather belt. It is embossed with the wartime Luftwaffe straight tail eagle on a pebbled central field, surrounded by a wreath. The buckle is of 1940 pattern, die stamped, steel construction, with a dark blue/grey painted finish, which is still present on about 50% of the buckle exterior. The rest has worn off due to use, while the interior retains almost all of the paint. The maker mark R.S. & S. can still be seen inside the buckle, which represents Richard Sieper & Söhne of Lüdenscheid, a German city with a large garment accessories industry.
The belt itself measures about 32” when fully extended, and is in very good condition, showing light wear to the exterior. There are not any maker markings, so most likely this was a war time replacement for a leather belt that gave out. The leather is still soft and supple, with a great finish.
Overall a great example of a hard to find WWII German Belt. Ready to display!
