Original Item: Only One Available. This is a good condition WWII German Wehrmacht Luftwaffe EM/NCO’s Belt Buckle (Koppelschloß), with the correct black leather belt. The buckle is embossed with the wartime Luftwaffe straight tail eagle on a pebbled central field, surrounded by a wreath. The buckle is of 1940 pattern, die stamped, steel construction, with a dark blue/grey painted finish, which is still present on probably 50% of the buckle exterior, showing wear from service. The interior retains more of the original paint, but does show some spots of oxidation. It is also faintly marked with R. S. & S., and still retains the leather tab, which reads:
R. SIEPER & SÖHNE
1940
LÜDENSCHEID
The black leather belt itself measures about 39” when fully extended, and is in very good condition, showing moderate wear to the exterior. It still has the leather tab with a double row of 7 holes for attaching the buckle and size adjustment, and is a bit stiff, so could definitely use some conditioning. The end clip is the early aluminum style, and is marked with OLC in a diamond, for Overhoff & Cie. of Lüdenscheid, who produced numerous clothing accessories.
Overall a very nice example of a service used used wartime issue Luftwaffe Belt and Buckle by a known maker. Ready to display!
