Original Items: Only One Set Available. Here we have a very nice German WWII Luftwaffe Uniform collar, which was cut off the uniform, and also then cut through about 2/3 of the way through, probably to make it easier to display. The unique camouflage pattern on it looks to be typical of the stippled type used on the drop uniforms for Fallschirmjäger (paratroopers) during WWII. This is further reinforced by the yellow color collar flaps that are still installed.
Known as Kragenpatten (Collar Flaps) in German, these were attached to the collars to indicate the rank and branch of the wearer. These are in Goldgelb (Gold-Yellow), the correct Waffenfarbe (Corps Color) for Aviator troops such as pilots and ground personnel, as well as Fallschirmjäger (parachute troops). The three bullion “wings” above oak leaves indicate the rank of Hauptmann (Captain).
The collar and insignia both show some lovely service wear, with some tearing and wear through on the fabric. This definitely looks to be taken off a captured uniform used in service, not something found unissued after the war. Very decorative and ready to display!
