Original Items: Only One Lot of 17 Available. Here we have a great USGI bring back set of German Luftwaffe WWII Kragenspiegel (collar tabs) and Schulterstücken (shoulder boards). Many of these have standard clothing pins in one end, so we assume these were part of a display at some time, and now grouped together. Many of these show extensive moth damage, as the wool felt “Badge cloth” was very vulnerable to mothing.
This fine set consists of the following items:
– One PAIR of Luftwaffe Flight Branch Oberstleutnant Shoulder Boards. This rank is equivalent to a U.S. Army Lt. Colonel. These feature plaited “Russia Braid” bullion double piping, and a single rank pip, with the Golden Yellow backing for the flight branch.
– TWO PAIRS of Luftwaffe Flight Branch Major Shoulder Boards. These feature plaited “Russia Braid” bullion double piping, and a single rank pip, with the Golden Yellow backing for the flight branch.
– One Luftwaffe Medical Branch Oberfeldwebel Shoulder Strap. This features the “Rod of Asclepius” device for the medical branch, as well as the “medical blue” piping. It has a single row of NCO tress around the entire outside, with two rank pips for an Oberfeldwebel, equivalent to a U.S. Army Master sergeant.
– One PAIR of Luftwaffe Flight Branch Oberst Collar Tabs. This rank is equivalent to a U.S. Army Colonel, and the tabs feature three “gull wing” devices surrounded by a wreath on a gold yellow field, with bullion edge piping.
– SEVEN Luftwaffe Flight Branch Oberstleutnant Collar Tabs. Four right side tabs and three left side. This rank is equivalent to a U.S. Army Lt. Colonel, and the tabs feature two “gull wing” devices surrounded by a wreath on a gold yellow field, with bullion edge piping.
– One Luftwaffe “High Grade” Career Administrative Official’s Collar tab. The Luftwaffe administration used triangular “pips” on their insignia, instead of the gull wings like the other branches. The gold piping around the edge indicates that they were at the high grade level in their career.
A great set, ready to display, or maybe use to dress up some Luftwaffe Uniforms!
