Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very good condition WWII German Wehrmacht Luftwaffe EM/NCO’s Belt Buckle (Koppelschloß), with the correct black leather belt. The buckle is embossed with the wartime Luftwaffe straight tail eagle on a pebbled central field, surrounded by a wreath. The buckle is of 1940 pattern, die stamped, steel construction, with a dark blue/grey painted finish, which is still present on over 95% of the buckle, inside and out. There is just a tiny bit of wear and oxidation in areas. The buckle does not have a maker mark inside, and there is no leather maker tab.
The belt itself measures about 36” when fully extended, and is in good condition, showing moderate wear to the exterior. It still has the leather tab with a double row of 7 holes for attaching the buckle and size adjustment, and a steel attachment clip on the other end. There is some staining on the leather, visible on the interior, and it looks like there is a tear in the area where the adjustment tab attaches to. There is a stamped 85 on the buckle end, for 85cm (33.4in.), and also a partial RBNr. on the clip end.
Overall a very nice example of a wartime issue Luftwaffe Belt with a fantastic Buckle. Ready to display!
