Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice German WWII Issue Field Medic first aid large pattern brown leather medic case. The case features a carry handle on top, multiple compartments inside and is stamped with a German Waffenamt WaA717 stamp on the front of the lid, over the letter S. The case measures 8 1/2″W x 9 1/2″H x 4″, and has a lovely aged look.
These cases were used to hold a multitude of medical supplies for field use, with the various compartments allowing for easy organization of the contents. The case itself opens up almost like a small desk, allowing all of the compartments to be accessed at the same time. There are the remains of a label inside the case, which most likely was originally a list of contents for the full load out.
These cases were usually carried over the shoulder, and there is a small hook on a leather strap, used to secure it to the belt. The shoulder strap on this example has unfortunately been removed, though both D rings are still fully intact. Also one of the two top closure tabs has had the end tear off. Otherwise, everything works and looks great, with some leather degradation from 70+ years of age.
Like all Field Medic material, these are becoming very hard to find, even without contents. A very nice display piece, ready to add to your collection!
