Original Item: Only One Available. This is a tailor made German WWII Kriegsmarine Officer’s Reefer Jacket, named, and dated 1944. Jacket is of wool construction, short double breasted with an open collar. The front is secured on either side with four brass gilded, fouled anchor buttons, each marked with the logo for Assmann on the reverse.
Interior is lined with rayon and has one internal pocket. Inside the pocket is found the Tailor label for the firm A. Wolter & Sohn, Hamburg. On the tag is written the original owner’s name, rank, service number, and the date of manufacture (29th February, 1944). The Jacket is fitted with Oberleutnant (1st Lieutenant) Shoulder Boards of the sew-on variety. On the right breast is a pin-on Kriegsmarine national emblem (Breast Eagle), of correct corresponding late war manufacture, which is a zinc alloy. Over time the alloy has washed the original gilded finish from the eagle itself.
This is an excellent example of a late war Kriegsmarine officer’s uniform, in very honest, untouched, condition. Perfect for the Kriegsmarine collector, both advanced and novice alike!
