Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice WWII German HJ (jugend) Single Rune Belt Buckle (Koppelschloß) with correct leather belt. The HJ was the youth arm of the NSDAP (NSDAP) party, and was the sole youth organization in all of Germany from 1933 until its dissolution in 1945. While the group proper was composed of male youths aged 14 to 18, there was also the German Youngsters in the HJ (Deutsches Jungvolk in der jugend or “DJ”, also “DJV”) made up of younger boys aged 10 to 14.
The single rune belt buckle is specific to the DJ, so one might expect the belt itself to be somewhat short. However, this belt is adjustable 38-42 in, so it’s possible the belt was used continually by a DJ member into their military service. The buckle is nickel-plated brass, though a lot of the nickel has worn off from years of use. The belt itself is still pliable, though there is cracking in portions due to age, and some verdigris stains around the buckle area. The buckle itself is maker marked with an interlocking PUC, for Paulmann & Crone, Lüdenscheid.
