Original German WWII Heer Army Supply & Vehicle Troops Officer Visor Cap – Schirmmütze Original Items

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice service used condition German WWII Military Administration Officer’s Schirmmütze Visor Cap, with a lovely service worn look. The cap shows high quality fabrication, made from light gray wool gabardine with a forest green band and a traditional high front. The cap has matching Blau (Blue) piping along the top edge and flanking either side of the band, the Waffenfarbe (Corps Color) for Vehicle troops (Kraftfahrparktruppen) and the Supply troop (Nachschubtruppe).

It is decorated with a well detailed aluminum Reichsadler National Eagle insignia on the peak and and an open silver bullion embroidered wreath surrounding a tri-color metal cockade on the band. It has the correct Silver bullion cord “chinstrap”, attached to silvered buttons, indicating that this cap is for an Officer. The visor / peak on this cap is black-finished “vulcanfibre”, the standard material for NCOs and Officers alike, which is gray on the underside.

The cap is lined with gray fabric and still retains the celluloid sweat shield on the top, though it is definitely a bit degraded, with cracking and some missing stitching. We unfortunately cannot read the faded maker markings. The brown pressed paper faux leather sweatband is present, but shows some tear. It is stiff due to decades of age, as the pressed paper does not age nearly as well as leather. Newspaper has been packed into some areas inside to maintain the shape.

The exterior is in good shape, showing only a few small moth nips. The crown stiffener is still installed, but has broken and pierced the cap in one area. There is also significant oxidation to the bullion wreath around the cockade.
