Original Item: Only One Available. The German WWII Gasschutzhaube (Gas protection hood) Medical Gas Mask was intended for anyone suffering a head wound, and therefore unable to use their issue gas mask. German medics carried these medical head wound gas masks, and were expected to use the filter from the wounded man’s gas mask. They were issued to all branches of the German military during World War Two, although the most common ones encountered today tend to be either Army or Naval issue.
This fine example is painted in the usual Army Heer Green, and is in very good condition. The lid of the can has a nice white stencil that reads 1 Gasschutzhaube. The case measures about 12″ x 10″ X 2″, and looks to have all the parts, except of course the mask itself, which are very rare on the market. The interior still has an intact fabric covered spring clip, and has an ink Waffenamt inspection stamp. The side of the can is maker marked with stacked letter B’s in a circle, over a 1940 date. To the right of this is a metal stamped Waffenamt WaA101 stamping.
The case still has the original shoulder strap, as well as the spring loaded closure strap. A great piece of medic material from WWII. Ready to display!
