Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice genuine steel construction M34 “Square Dip” Third Reich helmet, outfitted for German WWII civic police issue. Unlike many that we have had, this example shows a lot of wear, including some very nice “battle damage” in the form of a hole on the right skirt, which is just about the right size for a bullet or shrapnel hitting the inside of the helmet and exiting to the right side.
It features genuine double decals of civic eagle and NSDAP swas. Comes with complete leather liner and cork washers still intact and tight with all 4 split pins. The black leather liner is in very good condition for its age, showing some wear. The original top tie is still present, but not attached to all the fingers. The liner also still has rear tabs for a leather “skirt”, which were installed on fire helmets. The chin strap is also leather, though it is dried out and cracked, and is over all in somewhat delicate condition.
The exterior of this German helmet retains a good amount of the original black paint, but definitely also shows significant wear through to the red primer coat. The NSDAP decal is about 30% complete, missing most of the central portion, and the civic eagle is about 80%, with some scratching and chipping.
Overall a great opportunity to get a very interesting battle damaged example of a WWII Civic Police helmet. Ready to display!
