Original Item: Only One Available. This is a near excellent condition mid-war EREL Officer’s Schirmmütze Visor Cap. This is a very high quality manufactured visor. Fabricated in Army green gray wool, with wide dark green wool cap band, plus three rows of red wool piping around the circumference. The red piping indicates Artillery branch. The peak visor cap retains matching, early-quality, silver-aluminum hand-embroidered eagle with swas and oak leaves, along with a metal cockade with red felt center.
The cap is lined with deep golden-yellow silk and shows a perfect full-celluloid diamond bearing the silver-blocked Erel trademark which reads:
The leather sweatband with a ventilated front and silver-blocked Erel maker-name to the side. Of particular note is that once can see the thumb print were on the right side of the underside of the visor which is evident from the officer placing and removing this cap. So not only is the a wonderful excellent condition example, but you know that it was actually worn!
Size of this cap is approximately 58cm (US 7 1/4). This is an excellent, Double Erel, Heer Officer peak visor cap with a beautiful saddle-form shape.
