Original Item: Only One Available. This wonderful condition summer tunic is fabricated from a white cotton. The shoulders are adorned with Artillery leutnant shoulder boards incorporating rows of silvered aluminum wire, the end creating a button hole for a pebbled aluminum button, the sides and underside are in red wool, secured in place by a red wool strap. The shoulder boards also bear brass crossed cannon pins.
There are four pockets on the front, one on each breast and larger ones at the waist on both sides, each designed with a decorative pleat and pebbled buttons, each of which is maker marked and are held in place by rings on the underside and embedded in the pleat.
The right breast above the pocket is enriched with a Summer Army breast eagle insignia pin held in place via two horizontally-aligned vertical loops in white threading. Silver braided shooting award cord, and embroidered name tag to inside neck. The front has a vertical row of four metal buttons with pebbled uppers, also maker marked held in place by rings on the underside and visible on the inside of the tunic.
Also included is a German WW2 Heer Officer’s Brocade Belt & Buckle (Feldbinde und Feldbindenschloß für Offizier), offered in near mint condition, with very few signs of use, likely only worn on a handful of occasions. Officers were authorized to wear the brocade belt with the parade dress uniform, when reporting to a new unit, with the service dress uniform when full decorations were ordered, at formal occasions and with the formal dress uniform at ceremonial occasions.
