Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very good condition German WWII Heer Army Deputy Air Defense Leader’s Ärmelbinde (Armband), as often worn by Army flak gunners, brought home by a U.S.G.I. after the war. The armband is made from white cotton, with four blue rayon Tresse strips sewn onto it, two horizontally around the circumference, and two vertically. The two vertical stripes indicated that the wearer was the “deputy” leader, while the leader armband had only the horizontal strips. In the center is a lovely BeVo machine embroidered Heer Reichsadler (National Eagle), made from white and black threads.
The armband is in very good condition, though it definitely does show age toning and light staining to the white portions. We do not see any holes from it being attached to a uniform, and it looks to have been folded as it is for some time. It measures approximately 15 1/2″ x 3 7/8″, and is definitely one of the best that we have seen.
This is a very rare service used Heer Air Defense armband, ready to add to your collection!
