Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice, totally genuine World War Two German issue leather sling for the Mauser Karabiner 98 Kurz (k98k). It is hand sewn, with steel hardware, and made of quality leather which looks to have originally been finished black at some point, but the color is mostly worn away. The sling will also work for G/K43 and MP43/44.
This is a very nice solid example that retains its steel buckle (Klemmstück) with leather guard, and sling end frog (frosch), both made from leather covered steel. The frog is also maker marked and dated: L.S. / Fkw / 1938. Some makers have so far eluded positive ID, as they marked their stoppers with their pre-code factory initials or logos, and can’t be found among the makers that later marked their products with the standard codes. “S”, “3”, “RAO”, “R.u.K.” and “L.S. Fkw” are among these
The leather does have age and some cracking, but still shows the top border design. The stitching is solid, and the leather covering on the frog is fully complete, as shown.
Overall very good condition, ready to upgrade and original Karabiner 98 kurz rifle. Genuine wartime slings are nearly impossible to find in serviceable condition, don’t let this one pass you by!
