Original Item: Only One Available. This is unusual and extremely scarce. An original German WW1 Fife, as in “Musket, Fife and Drum”, reused during World War II and regimentally marked, contained in its matched original high quality leather belt carrier which is dated 1939.
The Fife is roughly 15″ in overall length, made in a fine quality wood with silvered brass caps on each end. It seems functional but we don’t know exactly how to play. Impressed on the end cap are regimental numbers of the German military unit to which it was issued that read:
II./ J. R. 83
The Fife is contained in the most marvelous leather-lined, leather-covered carrying “tube” with its original leather cap still intact. The carrier measures roughly 19” including the belt loop. The belt loop of the carrier is clearly marked on the back:
Kern Kläger & Co.

Amazingly high quality workmanship for military issue, with great research potential. A gorgeous instrument! Comes ready for further research and display.
