Original German WWI WWII Buckle and Medal Lot – 4 Items Original Items

Original Items: Only One Set Available. This is a wonderful opportunity, especially for collectors out there wanting to add a beautiful assortment of items to their collection. Whether you are wanting to get into collecting or just add to already existing collections, you do not want to miss out on this lot.
 
Included are the following items:
– WWI Prussian Brass and Nickel “Gott Mit Uns Buckle”: This is a very nice WWI Imperial German M1895 Prussian Belt Buckle (Koppelschloß). This buckle features two-piece brass and nickel construction, with a 45mm, slightly convex, stamped metal box buckle, with an attached Prussian insignia. This features the Prussian Crown, encompassed by a dual rope-like border within which, against a ribbed background, is the motto GOTT MIT UNS (God [is] With Us), and a spray of laurels. To the reverse is its raised buckle catch, and a metal prong bar with dual prongs, for the belt’s retaining tongue. The buckle is in good condition, with a nice patina of age, but not excessive oxidation. A very attractive display piece that still retains all of the detail on the insignia.
 
– WWII German Luftwaffe Steel Painted Buckle: This is a very nice WWII German Wehrmacht Luftwaffe EM/NCO’s Belt Buckle (Koppelschloß). It is embossed with the wartime Luftwaffe straight tail eagle on a pebbled central field, surrounded by a wreath. The buckle is of 1940 pattern, die stamped, steel construction, with a dark blue/gray painted finish, which is still present on about 70% of the buckle exterior. The rest has worn off due to use, while the interior retains almost all of the paint.
 
– WWII German Black Wound Badge: This is a very nice unmarked 3rd Class Black Wound Badge (Verwundetenabzeichen). The badge itself is constructed out of a die struck, brass base that has been painted black, which unfortunately has mostly worn away. The oval badge depicts an embossed profile of a mobile swas, above an M35 pattern helmet, which is above two crossed broadswords. This then lies on a pebbled field and is surrounded by a laurel leaf and berry wreath which is tied together at the bottom with a bow tie.
 
– WWII German War Merit Cross KvK 2nd Class with Swords (For Combat): This was a decoration of NSDAP Germany during the Second World War, which could be awarded to military personnel and civilians alike. By the end of the war it was issued in four degrees, and had a related civil decoration. It was created by Adolf AH in October 1939 as a successor to the non-combatant Iron Cross which was used in earlier wars. The award was graded the same as the Iron Cross: War Merit Cross Second Class, War Merit Cross First Class, and Knights Cross of the War Merit Cross. The award had two variants: with swords given to soldiers for exceptional service “not in direct connection with combat”, and without swords for meritorious service to civilians in “furtherance of the war effort”. As with the Iron Cross, Recipients had to have the lower grade of the award before getting the next level.
