Original Item: One-of-a-kind. Unusual to see German made trench art. Reasonably, the German’s were just as bored as the allies who spent months and years in muddy trenches and sent copious amounts of trench art home. This particular item is made from German cartridges (spent) and bullets to form a photograph frame.
Across the top there is a brass Germanic crown over a small photographic likeness of Kaiser Wilhelm. The photograph shows two young recruits standing nervously, in ill fitting uniforms, behind their proud fathers (presumably).
Charming item of genuine Great War German Trench Art, 9″ H x 5″ W
