Original Item: Only One Available. A very nice example of a German WWI field telephone with its original black leather covered carrying case. The telephone has a large steel hanging loop at the top, with a fold-down mouthpiece and a black painted canvas covering to the center grip. Original cord and black bakelite plugs intact (one plug is cracked). Black leather covered metal belt case, which is maker marked and dated 1916 and BERLIN on its reverse. Top case cover is unattached but sit perfectly when mounted. The case for this phone is rarer than the phone itself!
The WW1 earpiece is of the earliest manufacture and is constructed of WOOD! The wood has all has all the manufacturer and identification nomenclature repeated around the outer edge, but it is difficult to read. Comes complete with wire and two plugs, all you need is the correct switchboard or field box. Despite its fine condition we have no idea if this is still operational, and is therefore offered in “as is” condition.
This is a truly interesting and very scarce piece of original German World War One trench warfare equipment that you wont find anywhere else!
