Original Items: Only One Set Available. This is an outstanding two piece, grey leather deck uniform in a variant pattern as worn by lower ranked Kriegsmarine personnel. The jacket, of heavy grey leather with a six-button front furnished with grey finished, glass buttons (Kriegsmarine marked and dated 1942 on the reverse).
It has a stand up collar (with hook closure) and two adjustment straps on each sleeve having the same buttons. The lower waist has a buttoning tab that closes with a plain fiber button to the right. It has the typical lower flapped hip pockets and two (instead of one) upper breast pockets with buttoned flaps. The interior is fully lined with heavy black wool and has one inside pocket with worn size label. The rear band of this interior has a panel of dark brown leather.
The closely matching trousers are of fine grey leather having exterior belt loops and interior brace buttons (marked Extra Quality) on the waistband and fly. The rear of the trousers has a n opening with leather sizing strap and metal buckle. The lower calves close with two buttons and have a black cloth heel strap. They are fully lined with grey cotton cloth and they retain their original 1942 dated maker label. Appearing to be based on a work uniform pattern, both garments remain clean and supple with some areas of wear and minor age. A nice set as associated with deck and U-boat personnel offered in very good condition.
The size is large and both pieces fit a 6, 195 lbs, 42 chest man nicely.
