Original item: Only One Available. This is a lovely pair of French WWI Binoculars, made in Paris. The front is marked IC.MG.17051 and they are nicely marked on the rear of the left barrel:
EXTRA
LUMINEUSE
7x
and the right:
HUET
PARIS
There is a plated small steel plate on each barrel, the left bearing Ranging plate details from 100 to 1200 meters and imprinted with a French Infantryman bearing rifle and bayonet. The right barrel showing the Ranging Plate details from 100 to 1800 meters, and is imprinted a French Mounted Cavalryman holding his saddle Carbine. Each side is marked “Angle of duplication, 1/780”.
The binoculars still have their original brown leather neck strap, and have nice optics which are mostly clear, and the focus diopters on each side both work great. The eyepieces do not have any chips, and the brass housing overall still has a lot of original finish, combined with a great patina. The right eyepiece has an additional lens that can be swung into place using a thumb wheel on the side.
The binoculars also come with their original brown hardshell leather case, complete with shoulder strap. Leather is worn from use and age, but it still functions great. The inside lining of the lid gives more details of the binocular maker, HUET & CIE, complete with their address, 114. Rue de TEMPLE PARIS.
A great set of French WW1 binoculars, complete and ready to display.
