Original item. Ony One Available. This is the Classic Military Flintlock Pistol of the Napoleonic era, made at the IMPERIAL ARSENAL OF MAUBEUGE, an Arms Manufacturing installation created by King LOUIS XIV in 1678. It is Marked on the lock plate Maubeuge / Manuf. Imp. in scroll engraving below a proof mark. Brass mounts on walnut wood stock fitted with large skull crusher butt cap. Ghosts of Cartouches still visible on the wood stock and dated 1813 on the barrel. There are also numerous letter proof markings on the brass components, probably assembly matching numbers.
A very nice example of the French Dragoon pistol of the French Napoleonic era. Works perfectly and ready to display, a pistol that may well have seen service at WATERLOO.
