Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very unusual short shotgun or coaching gun with 11 inch factory manufactured barrels. Caliber appears to be close to a 20 gauge with locks that are cleanly marked P. GIRARD. This is a black powder percussion double lock, double barrel, shotgun with fine details that include; a checkered pistol grip, ornate and checkered wooden trigger guard, wooden butt plate, butt stock with cheek piece, double triggers with double hammers, and both the muzzle and the breech (around the blade front sight) have intricate gold inlay. The location of this inlay at the muzzle is why we believe the barrels were factory made at eleven inches and not cut down. It is possible this was originally a flintlock system that was later converted to percussion. Overall uniqueness, high quality finishes and very short tapered barrels make this a wonderful unique and collectible piece for any antique gun enthusiast. Offered mechanically sound and in overall very good condition.
