Original Item: Only One Available. This is a nice well-patinated English Pattern of 1740 Officers Sword, with a very distinctive perforated half basket flat steel guard. This type of sword was used In Both French and Indian Wars Of 1756-1763 and throughout the Revolutionary War 1775- 1783. It features a 28 3/4″ curved blade, with a wire bound black horn grip.
The condition is quite nice, with a lovely old patina, looking like it just came off the wall where it had been hanging for over 200 years. This unfortunately has made any markings that may have been on the blade impossible to read. The handle does have some chipping and cracks to the horn, and there are some nicks in the edge of the blade. However it just reeks of history and looks great!
