Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice early 20th Century French naval brass three draw telescope, which does not have any maker or other identification marks on it. Is does have the name C. WITT scratched into one of the fittings, but is otherwise clean, except that it has been wrapped with a chart displaying flags of the world. This would be quite useful when spotting ships from afar, to see which country they were sailing from.
Fully closed with the front lens cap on it measures just 9 3/4″, and fully extended it measures 29 1/4″. It also features a slicing cover for the eyepiece lens, typical of early 20th century naval telescopes. It does still give a relatively good image, though though lenses do need cleaning. Also the innermost draw requires significant effort to extend.
A very nice early 20th Century naval telescope, ready to display, or even use!
