Original Item: Only One Available. Here is a very good condition, WWI Dutch Model 1894 Hebel flare pistol, in the standard 26.5mm caliber with a 9 inch barrel. Left side of frame is marked with the Dutch markings for manufacture at WALDORP / HAAG HOLLAND. The Hebel Leuchtpistole Model 1894 was a flare gun used by Germany and various countries, so it is common to see various import/export markings as well as indigenous made examples like this one. The serial number present on the underside of the barrel is 51 with another serial present on the but of the grip frame and is 3651 DE.
Metal finish is worn with a nice worn blued patina, with signs of past pitting and scale. The wood grips still fit well, but do show wear and handling marks commensurate with age and long service. The lanyard ring is still present (rare). Mechanically tight and fully functional, though the catch sticks a bit. This was an example that was more than likely refinished for use during Pre NSDAP-Occupied era and never had the chance to be fielded by the looks of it.
A classic Great War “German” flare gun that will make a nice addition to your collection.
