Original Item: Only One Available. The M/23 helmet was a combat helmet issued to Danish troops during the interwar period and saw service in the Second World War. It was the first helmet to be issued to Danish Defense forces and was produced locally by the company Glud and Marstrands Fabriker.
These unique style helmets have never been plentiful. They were used in the vain attempt by Denmark to hold back the NSDAP invasion of 1940. Unfortunately, the Danes (along with most other Europeans at the time), presented little problem to the German Army, who rolled through Denmark and onto Norway.
This is an excellent example with original textured paint with substantial steel bowl construction with rolled edge, complete with full leather liner and chinstrap. The helmet has some pitting and small scratches, but is in good condition. The leather has signs of wear but is also in good condition. The most important aspect is the original WWII helmet plate, which is still present and in good state. Size is approximately 60cm US 7 1/2.
This is a scarce helmet of the WW2 era that saw service against the NSDAP war machine.
