Original Item. Only One Available. This is pretty unusual, starting life as the Danish Flintlock 18mm smooth bore Musket of 1769, fitted with an early Doglock type safety on the hammer. The lock does have a true half-cock position, which may have been added when it was later to be converted to a Percussion rifle. This conversion most likely occurred in Norway, where it was fitted with a rifled barrel of 41 inches long. The overall length is 56 1/2 inches, with all brass mounts on a Beech Wood stock with folding long range sights fitted to barrel.

The rifle comes complete with its VERY substantial iron and brass ram rod assembly. It is marked with serial number 7900 on the lock, barrel tang, and on the barrel behind the sight. There are additional marks on the lock and barrel, such as a CROWN / K. for manufacture in Kongsberg, Norway. The stock is also still fitted with its brass butt plate, with two VERY large round head iron screws.

In really nice condition, fully cleaned, a rifle possibly used in the U.S. Civil War. Ready to display!
