Original Item. Only One available. This is quite rare, and is a very nice example of a Danish Model 1889/93 Bayonet, intended for use on the Krag–Jørgensen Gevær M/1889 Rifle. The original Model 1889 bayonet featured a checkered leather grip but was improved in 1893 with this version having a wood grips secured by brass rivets. The bayonet is 13 3/4 inches overall, with a 9 inches long single edged fullered blade. The design is somewhat interesting, with a a triangular lever on the pommel of the bayonet moving the bayonet lock.
This very nice example is marked HVV over KØBHVN (Short for Copenhagen Arsenal), as well as CROWN / 09, probably for manufacture or acceptance in 1909. Interesting serial number of 66000, which should match the rifle it was issued to.
The bayonet itself is in absolutely primo unissued condition. It still retains the factory blunt edge, having never been sharpened. Just a bit of staining keeps it from being MINT. The steel mounted leather scabbard is in similar condition, completely unissued, with just storage wear.
A great example of a rare bayonet, ready to display!
