Original Item: Only One Available. The Soviet GSH-6 Pressurized Sub-Orbital Flight Helmet was usually used on MIG-21, MIG-23 and MIG-25 fighter interceptor airplanes as well as for cosmonaut training flights. The clear pressure visor is electrically heated to prevent fogging of the visor.

This example is offered in excellent condition. Used in the early Russian space program and when flying at extremely high altitudes, this GSh-6 (Germoshelm 6) high-altitude helmet features a retractable inner sun visor and the locking ring worn at the pilot’s neck with the latex dam that fits snugly onto the pilot’s upper body. Also included is an original cylindrical wood transit box with data plate.

The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-21 is a supersonic jet fighter and interceptor aircraft, designed by the Mikoyan-Gurevich Design Bureau in the Soviet Union. Its nicknames include: Balalaika, because its planform resembles the stringed musical instrument of the same name; Ołówek, Polish for “pencil”, due to the shape of its fuselage, and; Én bạc, meaning “Silver Swallow”, in Vietnamese.
