Original Item. Only One Available. This is a great Olsen brand throwing knife with its original leather sheath that has a built in belt loop. These were manufactured from the 1950s up to the 1980s when the company, Olsen Knife Co. Howard City, Michigan, went out of business in the 1980s.
The throwing knife retains its original micarta grips which are in good shape. The knife bears the stamp OLSEN O K H.C. MI. The scabbard has an embossed for the OLSEN company, which is a bit faint. The knife and scabbard are both in great shape. This appears to be an earlier made example.
The Olsen Knife Co. was founded and operated by Lee E. Olsen. He made both pocket and hunting knives. After 1970, he contracted his knives from Solingen, Germany. They went out of business about 1980. From 1982-1985, a group in Grand Rapids, Michigan used the Olsen Knife Company trademark on hunting knives.”
The knife and scabbard are in great shape and are ready for further research and display.
