Original Item: One Only. This is the typical Continental Rifled Musket that was imported Confederacy just before and during the U.S. Civil War. These were also bought and used by the Union Army in small quantities as described in the book Civil War Guns by William Edwards on page 262. This example is in approximately .69 Caliber and is rifled with a ladder type long range back sight. These were usually produced as muskets, but the export trade required rifles, indicating this was made for export to the U.S.. It is fully steel mounted and bears no apparent maker markings on the lock plate, no doubt removed by the French before allowing them to be shipped to a war zone. There is however a Crown over B proof near the front front lock screw. The barrel is 40″ in length and the rifle is 55″ overall.

Rifling is still very apparent with a bore light, Metal surfaces showing old pitting markings overall but in great display shape having been fully cleaned. The wooden stock is in excellent used condition, with a great color and patina. There are also some proof markings on the right side of the butt stock: “Crown” over “E.B.” and also a script “F A” in a circle, possibly indicating Frankford Arsenal inspection.

You can only return an item if it is unused and in the same state as the day you received it. You must have the item in its original packaging.
