Original Item: Only one available. The No.1 Mk.5 signal pistol closely follows the design of the classic WWI Brass Webley & Scott MkIII* flare pistol, with the distinctive flared muzzle. However instead of brass, for WWII Steel flare pistols were the norm, a much more sturdy metal when used in the field. It is marked on the right side of the frame with PISTOL SIGNAL IN No1 MK5.
This example is in very good condition, with very nice aluminum grips with an intact retractable lanyard ring. The pistol still retains most of its original black painted finish, a wartime expedient factory finish which was both inexpensive and durable. The black paint is very worn on the barrel but is still 75% retained. The side of the barrel and receiver are both stamped with serial number 077230. The number 17 is painted in white on the side of the frame. The aluminum grips show some wear with counter checkering on both sides. The pistol appears to be fully functional, with no mechanical issues. Ready for further research and display!
