Original Item: The No. 2 Mk I Range Plate was graduated for use with Mk VII ball ammunition, and it was graduated from 0 up to 2900 yards. The lower end of the plate is marked .303 MK VII / No2 MKI. There may be other arsenal markings stamped into the metal.
The plate was secured to the sight stem with two screws. The upper screw is a cheese-head screw, projecting above the plate to serve as an upper limit stop to the slide. The lower screw is a flat-head screw countersunk into the range plate to allow the slide to reach its lowest position.
