Original Item: One-of-a-kind. This is a genuine vintage 1930s-1940s WWII British Pub sign measuring 48 inches tall by 36 inches wide. it is constructed of framed steel and expertly painted. The sign is double sided and features two heavy circular hanging rings to the top edge. All aspects of this sign are 100% genuine.
The sign was purchased in the UK in the 1960s by IMA’s owner. It reads RED LION across the top and MANNS across the bottom. There is also a signature which appears to read D.P. Rose 34.
Manns is an English brewery that began business in the late 19th century and the name is still used today for marketing Manns Brown Ale. There are dozens of Red Lion pubs in the UK and based on the signs age we have no way of tracing exactly where this sign hung, but we do know it to be genuine and dating from the WW2 or pre-WWII era.
