Only One Set Available: A wonderful brown leather chamois-lined flying helmet with elastic snap chinstrap. In 1944 the internally wired C type flying helmets were issued. These came with wiring loom and earphones already factory installed. This fine example comes without front goggle straps and features an elastic chinstrap and a built in clip on the right side to accommodate the oxygen mask attachment hook. Helmet is approximate size 58/59cm (a nice large size).
Earphones nicely marked with a broad arrow and 10A/13466. All wiring is intact and complete.
Inside the interior right ear relief it is marked in hand written ink:
W.C. MACMILLAN
Research tells us that WC MacMillan was the Chief test Pilot at Fairey Aviation in 1925 and later served in WWII with the RAF!
The goggles are wonderful, classic Mk8 goggles featuring leather construction with suede lining steel eye brackets encasing clear glass lenses (no cracks or chips) with a classic cotton strap that is elastic and still stretchy!
