Original Item: Only One Available. World War One Trench warfare was a both a horrifying and very boring existence with days upon days of sitting around waiting for something to happen. To pass the time many soldiers took to creating items of use or amusement and this work has become known as “TRENCH ART”.
Here is an original British Rifle, Short, Magazine, LeeEnfield (SMLE) infantry rifle wood butt stock converted into a cribbage board by in-letting a “V” shaped brass plaque displaying the required peg holes into the wooden butt having removed both the butt plate and sling swivel.
Cribbage, played with a deck of cards, pegs and a board such as this is a wonderful game to pass the time, as appropriate today as it was one hundred years ago during the Great War.
