Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice set of WWI Royal Flying Corps Mk II Flying goggles, made by Triplex. “The Great War” was the first real use of aircraft as tools of war, and every side was looking to quickly advance their flight abilities. These early goggles are not that different from the WWII types, however the materials used during WWII were definitely more robust and better suited for aviation.
The rabbit fur backed leather surrounds give the information regarding the goggles:

(Broad Arrow)
Condition is good, though they do show wear and damage due to age. The right side lens took a hit at some point, and has cracks radiating out from that point. The fur backing of the goggles has also degraded over time, with a lot of the fur falling out. The elastic securing band has long lost any amount of elasticity, and actually tore away from the goggles. It is held on to one side now by an ancient rusted safety pin.
Very rare and desirable, perfect for an Early Aviation enthusiast!
