Original Items: One-of-a-kind grouping. This is a wonderful collection of ephemera pertaining to ALICE FREDA GIRARDOT, an English WW1 Nurse with the Red Cross.
The grouping consists of:
Autograph Book 1- one dating from 1914 which contains a variety of sketches done by her patients, some of which were French soldiers from the early battles of World War One. Included is a very good sketch of a defeated Turkish Soldier dated 1916.
Autograph Book 2- This book appears to be mostly post WW1 and has much less in it.
There is also an unframed studio photograph taken of Freda, in her uniform wearing her medals, taken in later life and signed to the reverse “With love from Freda.
Finally there is a framed and glazed certificate presented to “Miss Alice Freda Girardot, jointly by the BRITISH RED CROSS and the ORDER OF SAINT JOHN OF JERUSALEM in recognition of her valuable services during the great War.
A wonderful little time capsule from the Great War!
