Original Items. Only One Set Available. This is a scarce set of very rare, early British parabolic flash hiders for the Vickers Mounted Machine Gun. This style of flash hider was basically a large round bulbous device with four vent holes, one on each side. It was designed to basically capture all the gas and firing residue inside this large bulbous area and then let the gas and flash slowly dissipate through these side vent holes.
One of the two examples in this lot has some battle damage, with a nick of shrapnel on the firing end. The flash hiders measure roughly 6” long and roughly 3½” wide. The undamaged example retains much more of its original paint, while the battle-damaged one is heavily chipped. The damaged one is marked A&P, with the other being marked SH.
A great set of very scarce attachments for the Vickers Mounted Machine Gun, ready for further research and display!
