Original Items. One Set Only. From an old Manor House Sale in England, these came out of the attic, where they were stored, having been put away after World War One and forgotten.
These are a fine pair of high quality Knee Boots in Brown Leather that required leather thong laces (now absent) to be tightened to the front. Even putting them on was an undertaking, as indicated by the pull loops on either side. Boot pullers would be used to slowly inch the boots over the feet. These come complete with their original wood Boot trees which have been in them for possibly 100 years. Also included and installed are the Officer’s spurs with small steel rowels and leather strapping.
In very good condition, these still have bits of mud on the sides and soles, which might just be from the trenches! There are no markings, as boots of this type were bespoke, and any maker marking on the soles would have worn away in the trenches long ago.
Ideal to complete any WW1 Officer’s Uniform Set.
