Original Items: One set only. This Straight razor, often called a “Cut throat razor,” dates from before the First World War and was actually made in Solingen, Germany and marketed under the name of CARNOS and the cardboard carry case bears the British Registration number 42538, as well as New Process Razor. The razor has white “ovaline” imitation ivory grip plates with an inlaid CARNOS logo, and the blade is stamped BEST SILVER STEEL / MADE IN GERMANY.

The Strop is also with its slide in Card board case marked THE LONDON MAGNETIC STROP. It appears to a wood base covered on one side by leather and the other side by rubber. It does not appear to have any type of magnetic properties.

The Trench mirror is of highly polished and plated steel, stamped BRITISH MADE. It comes in its own leather protective sheath and is fitted with a leather tab to extract the mirror.

These three items came from the estate of a British WW1 Officer whose family decided to no longer hang onto such relics.

In nice condition, no doubt all could be pressed back into service again if desired. Straight Razors have recently experienced a revival in popularity, regardless of the antiquated design, completely lacking in any type of safety features. These have been featured in quite a number of horror movies, and the scraping sound made when being used is iconic.
