This was a private purchase item that could be used with any waist belt but intended for use with the Sam Browne design for use with over the shoulder cross strap.
Broad Arrow marked on the holster’s interior. The rear of the holster with slot for a 9″ brass cleaning rod which is included together with quickly detachable buckled belt loops.
Offered in remarkably good condition, this example may never have been issued, and only shows age and storage marks. Uncommon now, as these were less popular than the more traditional closed-top revolver holsters of the period.
