Original Item: Only One Available. Originally purchased from J.H. Stewart Ltd, 406 Strand, London, founded by James Henry Stewart in 1852 as a Military Outfitter, an identical example was presented by WINSTON CHURCHILL to his brother-in-law, Bertram Romilly on November 15th, 1915.
Not currently operational, the flashlight features a a large “Fish Eye” lens and was beautifully made of nickel plated steel and contained in it custom fitted brown leather case with belt loops to rear to be worn on a Officer’s Sam Browne Belt. Remains of the Owner’s name ink can be found on the exterior bottom of the leather casing but requires heavy magnification to read.
Originally fitted with a leather cover to top now absent, but an example of what private purchase items officer’s acquired before leaving for the trenches on the Western Front.
