Original Item. Only One Available. This is most compelling when seen in person. A Barn Find in England after now over 100 years of neglect this truly is the real thing!
This most attractive Trench Lamp was intended for use with either an Oil Lamp, or if oil was not available with a lighted Candle. The Lantern has four frosted flat glazed panes inside a circular cage of twisted wire, with a hinged top for access to the interior. All four glazed panels (windows) present and undamaged. Additionally, this particular example has a frosted glass bottom, for additional light dispersion on the ground.
On the iron base surround there is a Makers embossed tin label stating the Maker’s name and address:

The lamp measures 12″ tall by 7 1/2″ across, which is quite large. The condition is good, but still in “barn fresh” condition, except that we have used compressed air to clean it. The original red primer is visible in many places under the black paint. The door hinge is a bit stiff, and the latch is partly missing.
A most compelling memento of Trench Warfare that saw service in the Great War.
