This is the regulation sidearm carried by the river police at the close of the Victorian era (1837-1901). Full brass hilt with two bar guard and integral bass grip engraved on the bow THAMES RIVER POLICE.

Wapping is the the London dock district, at the time one of the most dangerous places in the entire city. Sword measures 33″ overall and comes with a press button scabbard lock to secure the sword into the scabbard.
This Sword is in truly excellent overall condition having been kept looking like new since it was originally issued and on display. We’re not likely to see another example this nice again!
