Original British Silver Mounted Officer’s Flintlock Pistol with Brass Barrel, Tiger Flame Stock, and EIC Lock Dated 1813 Original Items

Original Item: Only One Available. Here we have a fantastic upmarket officer’s private purchase rifled flintlock pistol of exceptional quality, with beautiful silver mountings and a fully flame figured stock. The lock plate is marked with the East India Company “Rampant Lion” logo, next to a Crown / 2 proof, and the tail of the lock is dated 1813. We do not know if it was just that an EIC lock was used, or whether it was custom made for some high ranking EIC officer. Whatever its history, it truly looks fantastic!

This lovely pistol is full stocked and has a tarnished silver end cap on the grip, with a “German Silver” trigger guard and ramrod pipes. There is some great engraving on the trigger guard, and an embossed design on the front of the end cap. It features a BRASS barrel of 8 1/2″ with an overall length of 14 1/4″. The barrel has the CROWN / CROSSED SCEPTERS / BPC “proof” and CROWN / CROSSED SCEPTERS / V “viewed” marks from the English city of Birmingham on the top near the breech. These are the correct markings for pre-1853 manufacture. It comes complete with a wooden ramrod, which is probably a period replacement for display.

The stock is in fantastic condition, with great grain and a lovely look. It does not look to have seen much use / service at all. The lock is in good shape and functional, holding properly at half cock, and firing at full. We checked the bore, and it is clean and shows only light use. The finish on most of the metal components is in great shape, with a lovely aged patina.
